would have been very sweet for a pl school to win a national championship but it didn't happen today, as syracuse edged the middies 14-13 before about 40000 in baltimore. saturday's semis were witnessed by 47000- that's
amazing attendance.
for sure, hc better find a good (no, make that 'great') coach (read 'recruiter')in their search, as otherwise one-sided scores might be hard to avoid. this is one tough league in men's lacrosse!
In the 1960's, Navy had a first team All-America lacrosse player who received the Schmeisser Award given to the nation's outstanding defenseman. He was subsequently elected to the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
His name was Carl Tamulevich. Tammy had been a three sport athlete [football,basketball,baseball]at Nashua(New Hampshire) High School and came to Holy Cross as part of the class of '65. He played freshman football at HC in the days when frosh could not play varsity ball. Left Holy Cross after that year and ended up at Navy. He played varsity football at Navy in addition to lacrosse.
