Rusty Giudici '03 was a Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year in Men's Soccer in 2003...the same season he was PL Defensive Player of the Year and led the team to the NCAA Tournament.

This doesn't change the fact that on balance the HC administration cares little about sports and it shows in the quality of the teams we put on the field.

Nothing will substantially change until we have some forward looking young blood injected into the HC administration.

On a tangential note, it is a shame that HC is moving down the road of accepting less kids from a same sized applicant pool to make it look better in U.S. News rather than being able to successfully market itself to get more applicants and then be able to accept fewer students to get to the same numbers. The fact that HC cannot or simply will not accept the import of sports on academic quality of the student body is imbecilic.

Furthermore, maybe this new PR head will be able to talk some sense into the admissions staff to finally put together a decent website. Our current admissions website does nothing but reflect poorly on the school. 2 years later we are still waiting for that great new website they promised, instead we have data pointing to a 1986-1995 study about how HC stacks up in graduate degree studies...simply embarrassing. PR reflects SAT data that contradicts and is 30 points lower than what the alumni have been told about the past 2 years' entering classes. I could go on, but you all have heard this from me before.

Cheers.

Take a look at this link from the PL website. We were a DISTANT last in the Presidents Cup. This makes sense because we are not competitive in most PL sports.

Not many people have stepped up to defend Regan on this board. This data makes it impossible in my view. Increasing our athletic profile is a surefire way to increase the number of applicants, I completely agree with 1843.

There simply have to be changes made in the Athletic Department.

" There simply have to be changes made in the Athletic Department. "

When Regan was hired, his resume' gave me some hope that the 'Brooks Era' was finally over and a new era would be forthcoming. I was wrong.

But in his defense, he - or anyone else in the HC AD's chair - takes his orders from McFarland and the Trustees. Thus, IMO you're shooting too low on looking for personnel changes. McFarland is the BOSS and he is the one who should be getting an earful and perhaps some stop-payment notices on alumni checks for the disgraceful mess that has befallen Holy Cross athletics.
