Rick,

No offense taken. I know it's a low low likelihood (OK call it a pipedream) I was just trying to start some forward looking conversation.

Anyway, after I posted, I took a look at SC's OCC last year. A road game victory against us would help their NCAA seeding chances and a road loss to us can't be much worse than a victory over Campbell at home! Depending on how we finish, a road loss might even look OK to the committee. Certainly it's worth a phone call!

Team (RPI, Location)
SW Missouri St (95 Neutral)
Campbell (318, Home)
Navy (314, Home)
Gardner-Webb (291, Home)
Idaho (161, Home)
Citadel (306, Road)
Temple (100, Road)
Charleston Southern (316, Home)
South Carolina State (219, Home)
Yale (215, Home)
Appalachia State (248, Home)
Richmond (47, Neutral)

To be honest with you, I don't think South Carolina would be a big draw at the Centrum. Although an SEC team, I don't think they have the cache of a major b-ball program.

I always thought a way to get good teams to come to the area was to find those high caliber D1 teams that have local kids(Worcester/Springfield/Boston) that are now Seniors. Often times a coach wants to get a Senior a chance to play close to home their Senior year. I remember this being one of the reasons RW gave for playing the games at MSG last year - so Jave Mead could have game close to home so he could play in front of family and friends.

A couple of years ago Florida played up at UNH so that a kid on the team who came from New Hampshire(I can't remember his name - Bonner maybe?) could get a chance to play a game close to home.

I never understood why HC and Villanova didn't get together and schedule a game against each other while Mike Bradley ( a local Wocester kid who played at Burncoat and is now on the Atlanta Hawks) was at Villanova - or did Bradley leave a year early? - I can't remember.

Does anyone know of any kids that grew up in Boston/Worcester/Springfield that are seniors in major programs? Maybe this is a way to get some good teams to come play HC at the Hart or in the Centrum.

There are preliminary reports from the Hill that HC will be taking on a triumverate of ACC teams -- Maryland, GT, and Duke, staggered over the course of the year. Sources say that one of these games will be at the Centrum.

Fecal matter in the dryer is another matter altogether.
