Subject: OOC Schedule for Next Year

Enjoyed the speculation about an ACC contest but does anyone have any inside information on how the OOC schedule is actuall shaping up for next season? The postings are getting pretty dull and I wonder if anyone actuully has any information to pass along to we hoop fans.

Nothing other than Minnesota. I don't know what happened to Yale or UNC Asheville whom as I recall were to be on the OOC list even last season. We know that there's a home and home with Siena that is to begin in 2005-06 but there are hopes (by HC) of having it begin in the coming season.

The Minnesota trip is an out-and-back single game excursion. My thought is that it would've been nice to book another game somewhere in the Midwest as long as we were traveling that far but it is not going to happen, at least not as of now.

With Humphries declairng for the NBA draft, I like our chances more. Hoipe the boys can win one on the road against an opponent the caliber of Minnesota. Gai from Fairfield also on the early NBA list: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=2004/draft/early/entry/list

Since they will be half way here, they should keep heading west and play Gonzaga, University of Washington, Washington State or Eastern Washington.

Speaking of Gonzaga, is there any chance that this game came about as a result of Fr. MacFarland and Minn. coach Dan Monson's common Gonzaga heritage?

What is the big secret, why can't HC release their OOC schedule for next year? Is it because it's the typical
(no good home games) schedule featuring the tough teams like Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth to go along with the tough
Patriot League teams. It's time to up-grade the schedule
to increase fan & student interest in the team.

They normally do not release the schedule until it is complete. There will probably not be any big names on the schedule at home, because no decent team wants to play a low major on the road, as they are afraid they may lose, and have nothing to gain if they win. Just a fact of life when you choose to play in the PL.

For a half-a-mil-a-year package deal, Monson left Spokane, Wash., after signing a 10-season contract extension following the Bulldogs' miraculous run to the Elite Eight in March.

"To be honest with you, it doesn't get much worse for me personally," Monson said at his introductory press conference. "It was well known there with my administration (at Gonzaga) that if I had an opportunity of a lifetime, that I have certain goals in my profession."
