You people just read whatever you want into Pearl's statement. Give the guy a break. He said HC was interested in the ECAC and made a gracious comment about Atlantic Hockey which has served you well. There is no need to anger Atlantic teams and fans with more comments as you may end up staying there. I think HC will get the invite as Niagara and Mercyhurst are too far away and Q is just not a good fit. IMHO the real threat for HC was Army but, since they can't take Canadians and didn't submit an application, it appears you are a safe bet. Your connections with Colgate and the ivies seem to be the sure thing.
I'm not sure HC should worry too much about ticking off other conference members. Mercyhurst and Quinnipiac are in the same boat as well. Since it's more than one school, any venom spewed by the rest of the league towards the members looking to leave will be spread out over three schools.
I haven't seen anything from any of the three to indicate they're unhappy in Atlantic Hockey. This just presents itself as a great opportunity. HC must seize this chance and make the most of it. If they are invited and accept, then they can't half-ass it either. It's scholarship time.
