Simple...it's a lot easier to fit the two syllable "Sader" into a cheer than the three syllable "Crusader." Duh. "Politcal correctness" regarding our Holy Cross Crusader is a crock. In hoc signo vinces.

"Sader" is to Crusaders what "Gate" is to Colgate.
But I don't think you were asking about that. I believe that you inquired about the "PCness" of using Crusaders as a team name. In fact there has been some discussion of whether or not "Crusaders" is offensive much as there has been criticism of the Atlanta "Braves," Kansas City "Chiefs," etc. There was even coverage in the School Newspaper or Alumni Magazine at one point. The bottom line is that HC is comfortable with the name and there is no plan to change it.
