actually i know that volleyball flies down to navy and american and i think some other teams have started doing so as well.

The Athletic Department gets great rates on the flights with schedules being set at least a year in advance. Flying down to the DC area makes the trip a lot more bearable. Plus it's really about a 10-11 hour BUS ride to DC from Mt. St. James (As the Silver Fox flies of course!)
