I like suppositories much better than enemas. Today was one of those days when I was constipated. As soon as I got home from work, I got undressed, inserted a suppository, put on my robe, and did some housework while waiting for that strong urge to go. And it was very effective. My last bout with constipation was on my 38th birthday this past June. Only the suppository didn't work so good and I had to take a soapsuds enema. I have probably taken 10 suppositories so far this year and only two enemas.

I don't like the unpredictability of laxatives and the amount of time they take to work. For me, it's a soapsuds enema. The results happen immediately.

I've had Fleets but they give me an uncomfortable feeling. Maybe they're more convenient because there's no prep to do other than opening the box and removing the cap, but I dislike the feeling they cause for me. Plus, a good sopasuds enema seems to get more out. So I just go with a good bagful of soapy water.

Me, too, Ellen. I just hate having to give it to myself.

Florence,

Giving an enema to yourself can be irksome, but you could always hire-in an enema nurse.

That has been successful for me.
