Me and my two brothers were always given enemas the night of 4th of July or the day after. My mom and grandmother always believed all of the food and the desserts would upset our stomachs and make us miserable. Enemas would save us from that.
I have a fourteen year old boy and I gave him an enema on Sunday following the same reasons. He did not want it but with the help of his father we got him undressed and the enema in him. He actually needed the enemas for other reasons. He later told us he hadn't pooped since Wednesday. The enema made him a more pleasant and happier kid.

I have one child a 14yo boy. The other julie has girls. My son has a problem about promptly answering the urge to poop. He delays it and becomes truly unpleasant. Why not give him an enema that provides relief even when he doesn't want it. Today I caught him with that look on his face that said he was holding. I told him to go in the bathroom and let himself poop. He couldn't so I told him he needed an enema again. No problem this time. He stepped out of his sneakers, jeans and underwear. I made the enema and he got on the floor so I could give it to him. This time there was no fuss.
