A friend of mine (a woman)recently got an enema from a male nurse in a hospital. She later told me she was upset and still is. I asked her why she did not ask for a female nurse to perform the procedure. She said she felt she would be even more embarrassed doing that?
Her experience got me thinking. What would I do? What would you ladies do?

I have never had a hospital enema but the thought always seemed erotic to me. Also, I have never had an enema from a male and that thought seems even more erotic to me. I guess it is the loss of control and the exposure that facinates me. If I got one from a male in a hospital I think I would savor the experience - cute or not.

Never had an enema in the hospital from the male nurse, although I've gotten several from female nurses. The thought of a male nurse administering seems somewhat erotic, even fascinating. I don't know how I'd handle the possibility ... but, you know something, I think I'd enjoy it ... first thinking about what he sees, then me fascinated to think about what he's thinking about and knowing that some other male, other than my husband, is doing this.

It would not bother me at all. A couple of years ago my husband had to get a barium enema and he said that the technician was a very attractive woman at least 25 years younger than him. With turnabout being fair play I had a mammogram done with a male tech, but so what for years my OBGYN was male.

I have worked as an LPN for many years in hospitals and for male and female doctors. I have given hundreds of enemas to men and women. When female physicians examine men and do a prostate or genital exam, another person is often not in the room. When I have been present for prostate exams, the men just take down their pants and either lie on their side or stand and bend over. Often they aren't draped or wearing a gown. Most nurses and aides are women, so they would give enemas to both sexes. If a woman needs and enema, and only a male is available to do it, they do it. But there does seem to be a double standard for men and women. I have never had a male object a woman giving an enema, bed bath, or any other treatment that exposes them. It is my experience that men would prefer to have a woman do it, and enjoy it at times if they aren't too sick. I've seen my share of erections. It is interesting that some women also enjoy having the opposite sex take care of them in ways that expose their "nether parts."

[> Subject: Why Don't They Assign Male Nurses or Aides To Women?

Based on what some of you said here, it seems as though some women would willingly accept a male nurse or aide being assigned to give them a bath, enema, or examination.
But I don't think they ever get those assignments, but I can't figure out why they don't.

After all, most women go to a male ob-gyn and have no problem with doing that. So what makes hospitals think that women would not accept care from a male nurse or aide?

Maybe they tried this in the past and met with objections.
Anyone know more about this?

I agree that whatever the hospital procedure is, you have to flow with it. A close friend just got the barium enema process and there was only one female in the room who by the way was an aide. The prep, insertion, the contrast process were all done by males. I think it these days and times, everyone has to be prepared to be treated by either sex.

My questions would be--"did he know what he was doing? ...was it a good enema? did he use a colon tube or a nozzle?"
