Some tragic news recently sent me spiralling into a state of extreme depression. A beloved friend has developed cancer.
I was so upset I went on an alcohol fuelled despair/depression trip and barely ate a thing for 6 days.
My poo therefore was rare stuff. What bit I managed yesterday smelt totally vile. I had only ate a kebab, and a bacon and egg sandwich in over a week.....
When I finally heard good news re the treatment available, my bowels decided to move. Gawd, what a farty stinky mess. Normally I don't mind my smell, but ths was evil !
I decided there and then to do a big enema. I got my Klystra set out and gave myself 4 pints of warm water and glycerine. What came out was evil, hard, dark smelly poo with loads of stinky eggy-smelling gas. Yuk !
But, the funy thing was my depression and stress was lifted ! I felt light and happy. I had washed out my poo and troubles in one action !
Has anyone else noticed an enema is as a cure for all ills in body and mind ?

When you use an alkaline enema, your body will absorb more then a little bit of the liquid, as well as the 'acid-reducing' benefit of Ivory soap or baking soda.

It's no surprise that you feel 'happier' after your enema was over since you most likely had positive chemical change in your body, and in your mind, as well !

Hi Susan,

Thanks for the reply :-)

I have started to wonder what enemas are all all about..
I have come to the conclusion that it is 90% psycholocical, and 10% physical, with me at least...

I think the act of "defeacation" is a huge release of stress in most people. For some, including myself, the feelings and smell may arouse sexual feelings, but I am sure the whole enema experience is very mind orientated rather than body.

From my studies, I gather that in ancient-times, an enema was pretty much standard for most ailments of body/mind.
But these days ...ooooooh no, bottom, poo smells..noooo,nooo
the result is laxatives abuse, obesity, depression etc etc.

I think the world would be a better place if we didn't have to hide this miracle cure away, make it incredibly secretive, and make it embarrasing for all.

One thing I do is have a weep as my enema expells. It is a double expulsion of emotion and bodily waste/toxins.
Ok, sometimes I am turned on by the feeling and smell, but lately it has become a great stress reliever.

I wonder how different the world would be if everyone had a big enema every single week ?
Why has this ancient cure become sooooooo taboo ???

Love your enema, love your poo passage/bowel movement !

Can I conduct a mini-survey here?
Call me all the names you want, but does anyone else on this board love their poo ? By that I mean all aspects, the sight, the smell, the feel..... Is that wrong ?????

Hi Stephanie, I would strongly agree that a good enema is
an effective cure for depression....you can literally
flush all your cares away ! Its like the old saying
when the bottom falls out of your world , let the world
fall out of your bottom ! I syringed myself many times
for this reason.
love Jenifer

I have two experiences by others to add here.
A colon hydrotherapist told me once that she had (female) clients who would open up emotionally, even cry, while receiving her treatment. Maybe it was a willingness to release all of the tensions during the flow of soothing warm water, she said.
A friend whose mom was often high-strung and nervous found relief in a warm enema or two.
Couldn't this be related to some of us being given enemas for crankiness or other out-of-sorts mood that our moms thought came from constipation?

Dana is right. I've cried during colon therapy and sometimes at home while releasing an enema. The law firm where I'm a partner is so high stress that I need this type of release! I don't drink or bury my stress with drugs.

Darlene, thank you for confirming what others told me, and I am sure others here could add with their experiences.
Isn't it ironic tht instead of providing relaxation, many kids found fear and dread with at least their first few enemas. You could attribute that to moms' lack of explanation and poor technique in giving the treatment, i suppose.

Agreed. I have definitely felt an emotional release while taking enemas. Years ago a nurse taught me ways to relax by deep breathing, visualization and (yes) even those tingly feelings we get.
