I had an initiation enema experience very similar to yours when I pledged to a nursing sorority. This was back in the late 50’s. The initiation ceremony was conducted like a mock hospital admission, complete with an "attending physician." There were nine of us and the "doctor" ordered admission preps and enemas for all nine of us. Two backed out immediately and were dropped from consideration. The rest of endured an evening of complete humiliation.
We were issued hospital gowns then stood in line until your turn came. A mock clinic had been set up complete with a hospital bed. Two pledges were designated as the "prep team." They did the shaves and gave our sister pledges enemas until it was their turn, then the pledges who had had their enemas took the team members places until all of us had both taken and given. If you were in the wrong place in line you would get another enema if the team member hadn't given.
When it was your turn, you were instructed to lie down in the bed on your back spread-eagled. A pledge would lather your pubes and then shave you completely. While this was going on, the other pledge would have a large soap suds enema ready and waiting. As soon as the shave was complete, you were rolled over on your side and she started the enema.
The sorority sisters sat on the sidelines and snickered and commented on how hairy each girl was or how much enema you should be able to hold and really ridiculed the girls who were badly embarrassed or didn’t take their enemas well. We were, however, allowed to use the bathroom to expel the enemas in private.
It was truly embarrassing but did no actual harm. We got even the following year at the expense of the new pledges. The sorority is now defunct and I guess initiation rites are not like they used to be.
