Speaking of pure D ugly, I was informed that the "reason" we have been afflicted with this hideous hue is that former UT Chancellor Yudof made this rule (that all system schools had to have orange) as his parting gesture. It was his farewell "screw you" to any system schools that dared to be non-orange.

Anybody have contacts or friends in the legislature? I think we need a special act of the legislature to rescind this stupid rule, or at least make orange optional for us.

It is the height of arrogance to tell us we can't use the trim color of our choice, the color we had for over half a century. And the thing that boils my blood is the students seem to like the new colors just fine.

Feel free to cut and paste this rant into your letters to the Governor and Legislators.
