Subject: HBU the other night

Lots of turnovers and sloppy passes first half; lots of shots going halfway in and coming back out. HBU played very well at times--they would win some games in the Southland, several really good players for their team. Good passing. UTA had balanced scoring, and that was yet again a night where I've seen teams try to full-court press us on defense and our guards handled it with ease, resulting in a couple of Jordan slams. Very apparent that defenses are really gonna have to defend Jordan in conference play or he'll get 15 or 20 nightly and make it look easy. And the way Edwards' game is developing so rapidly, they're gonna have to defend him closely too. So that's gonna leave a lot of open guards and forwards room to create to shoot wide-open 3s. Look for this team to have a big impact on conference standings this year...I'm thinking 5th or 6th seed in tourney. Nicholls/Sam/McNeese/Lamar/SFA are all playing very well this year, but the Mavs will definitely be in the tourney too.
