Not many of the UTA Batters were showing any amount of plate patience .... way too many first pitch outs ....

a few guys I was impressed with:

Cary Nelson, #20, RF: Had a nice swing and really did a nice job of waiting for his pitch .... He had a few nice hits, with one nice double that bounced off the RF wall ....

Nathan Warrick, #10, CF: Lots of speed on him, really hustled on his hits ...

Daniel Macha, #6, 3B: Good power, hit quite a few deep balls, just missing a HR twice on a foul ball and a deep fly ball .... Did an excellent job of extending his bats, just kept reeling off flyballs ....

Looking at the box score all 11 of our hits came with the first 6 batters in the lineup .... and we did have LOTS of two out hits, but they would be the first of the inning and then get stranded ..... the ASU pitchers did a very nice job of getting pop-up hits .....

Russell Reichenbach pitched well as did Varnell .... The pitchers did their job, there were only 1 run innings until the 12th ... that shows good ability in our pitching staff to limit any huge innings .....
