I have been waiting for a victory like this for UTA since I fist stepped on campus in 1999. I am of the mindset that there is no reason we shouldn't be able to pick up victories against teams from bigger conferences when we meet. So many teams from other conferences like ours can pick up victories in those situations, but for some reason it seemed like we could never do it. Hopefully this win along with the current success of the women's team can end the mindset we have that our basketball teams can only compete within the Southland Conf. and against lower division teams. I know that we do not have the big budgets of many ther schools, but on any given day we have the potential to bite some of these bigger teams when we get the chance. More of that and the so called people who don't know we have a basketball team will wake up and realize thatour student athletes deserve their support.
