When looking at raw numbers of raising a tiny amount or a bigger amount, it doesn't make a lot of sense. On the surface that is.

I think one could argue that the person probably meant "it's more likely that an arena gets built than football coming back".

Realistically or not, one conceivably could i possibly imagine more sources of income (state, tax, private, alumni, etc.) to build a new arena. When you think of a football campaign, I think of golf tournaments, a wealthy alumni or two putting up major money and Maverick Club memberships.

Like the sun coming up every day, basketball has always been there and always will. And at some point Texas Hall will have to be replaced by someone, somehow. But people have been without football for a long time, and it's pretty well documented that it's gonna be student/alumni/ private money to fund it. That's harder to imagine sometimes.

But just my 2 cents.
