I sorta fell in love with website stuff by accident. Self-taught I guess you'd say.

I noticed one day that we had some free space available with our Earthlink account, remembered that Publisher had some web design capability (minimal as it is) and sorta went from there. I played around and just kept experimenting and experimenting and experimenting and hence Unofficial UTA Basketball was born. I then gave that up after a few years to take on our church's website and have since talked to a few local businesses about doing some web work as well.

A lot of folks in some web design forums kept talking about NetObjects Fusion, so I bought it and fell in love with it too. Amazing little program. It allows you to design a site much like you'd build an ad, and does most of the coding for you. You can build menus and buttons yourself and tweak HTML to your taste, or let the computer do it all for you.

In addition to Becker Draw, I also use Paint Shop Pro 8, which is similar to Photoshop but cheaper and less complex in my opinion. But it still uses layers, vector graphics, filters, etc. like PhotoShop.

I've seen a lot of sites done in ASP but never have seen the need to learn it personally. The church site I do is 40+ pages deep but really only about 6 or 8 of them get updated very often (once or twice a month), so there's not much need to have pages created dynamically or to feed changing news/data into them or do business commerce, which I understand ASP to be very good at.
