Still thinking in the NOW?

FSU built their program in about 12 years with Bowden, since 1979. They didn't even have a stadium to start with and their attendance was far worse than ours was at the beginning.

So it can be done. Jones knows it and he wants to make sure the conditions for it to happen do not exist.

That's all this is. Jones is setting the conditions in which we grow as a city, those conditions include UTA.

On the other hand, before there were the Joneses in Arlington. The city was moving in a different direction, they were actuall trrying to set the conditions positive for growth in Arlington and growth with UTA. Their mater plan made growth in downtown possible, untiing downtown with UTA and building an actual University District.

If this passes, it will supercede any of that and the growth toward downtown will no longer be a priority. Any conversation of it happening has pretty much disappeared since Jones came on scene.

And you know he'll do exactly what Hicks did - likely nothing.

The whole arguement isn't whether we are capable of it now. We need only to secure the conditions for positive growth in the future otherwise, we die.

With this contract, then at no time will the city be able to even particpate in the next 30 years.

30 years is a long time. You have no way of knowing how Spaniolo or some other future president with change UTA so who are we to predict it.
