Subject: I finally had to get my daughter to a podiatrist(sp)...She has the same complaint. The doctor x-rayed and did not find any stress fractures but suggested that:

1. She have the special inserts made for her shoes
2. Do hot soak after practice for 15 minutes followed by ice for 15 and 2 coated asprin every 4 hours while the pain continues....
Stretching is a must....ballet bar-work is the best...every day for at least 30-45 minutes

With all the sprains...knee problems....hip problems etc. which is typical of dancers they have to pamper their injuries as much as possible

I would suggest to find a othopedist that specializes in sports medicine...if they want to dance and be top in their field with any kind of injury this is a must

Take care of it now or you will be gimping around later in life
