Subject: Whose thermometer?

 When I was a little kid many, many years ago, the doctor made house calls but didn't use his own thermometer. Maybe he brought one, or not, I don't know. When my parents telephoned, the nurse would ask if they had a thermometer. When the doctor arrived he'd ask my mother to take my temperature. I guess that way when he returned to the office he didn't bring back a black bag full of thermometers that had been in kid's butts.
