Suffice it to say that there are a portion of older less functional grade school age youngsters (vast majority being six to ten years old boys) where placing a glass oral thermometer in the mouth would lead to a serious mishap whereas having a glass rectal thermometer mounted in such a boy's rear end always results in a successful conclusion tough he may express his loud objection during the experience.
