4.8 million units of penicillin in the hip of a 18 year old female whose husband gave her an STD after he returned from deployment. The doctor insisted that she get 2.4 in each hip. She was terrifed when I told her she wouls be getting both shots. She laid on the table and raised up her skirt and pulled down her panties. As i uncapped the first needle she saw the 18g needle and started to cry. I had to squeeze her hip just to make sure the needle would not hit her bone. I actually considered giving her 4 shots with less amount of fluid.
