Not only did he take a rectal temp, but did a vag exam in front of my mom. He kept asking me if I was sexually active, because it could be an "infection" Being rather sheltered, I wasn't really sure what he even meant, but I was very embarassed. At the doctor's office, it was mostly taken by the nurse, while I lay on my belly on the table. The few times the doctor took my temperature, or when he came to make a house call, whether I was 5 or 15, I got it taken over his lap. I never thought much about it as a younger kid, but as I got older, it became kind of embarassing.

Ehen I got too big for them to sit on a chair, they did it while the sat on the corn er of my bed. I was placed across them while in my briefs or pj bottoms and then they would take down the bottom/brief and take the reading
