Voting for Miss Universe 2002.
We have also selected the best six countries for now from which we know who their delegates are in May 2002 and four countries from which we still don't know who their delegates are in may 2002, but to which we give the best chances to be in the top-ten aswell. These countries and their delegates are: Aruba, Deyanira Frank; Dominican Republic, Ruth Ocumarez; Venezuela, Cynthia Lander; Puerto Rico, Isis Casalduc; Colombia, Vanessa Mendoza; Mexico, Erika Cruz.; India; Russia; USA;Spain. The countries of which we don't know who their delegate is we excluded from the election. When we know who their delegates will be and if we still have these countries in our top-ten, we will include these countries in the election aswell. So, we only gave points to the six countries with known delegates now in our top-ten. Each of us gave two points to the delegate of his/her first choice and one point to the delegate of his/her second choice. Nilo Dubero and Ronald Peterson were not allowed to give points to Aruba for they are Arubans. Gloria Gomez was not allowed to give points to Colombia for she is Colombian. Here are the results:
A. Jansen: 2 points for Aruba; 1 point for Dominican Republic.
M. Oviedo: 2 points for Dominican Republic; 1 point for Puerto Rico.
P. Pinot: 2 points for Dominican Republic; 1 point for Colombia.
D. Kwebe: 2 points for Dominican Republic; 1 point for Mexico.
S. Diaz: 2 points for Aruba; 1 point for Puerto Rico.
B. Smith: 2 points for Aruba; 1 point for Venezuela.

F. Epstein: 2 points for Aruba; 1 point for Venezuela.
N. Dubero: 2 points for Dominican Republic; 1 point for Venezuela.
R. Clark: 2 points for Dominican Republic; 1 point for Colombia.
G. Gomez: 2 points for Dominican Republic; 1 point for Aruba.
A. Korsova: 2 points for Aruba; 1 point for Puerto Rico.
V. Nealson: 2 points for Aruba; 1 point for Puerto Rico.
I. Rubinson: 2 points for Aruba; 1 point for Venezuela.
R. Peterson: 2 point for Venezuela; 1 point for Dominican Republic.
TOTALS:
Aruba, Deyanira Frank, leads with 17 points.
Dominican Republic, Ruth Ocumarez, follows with 15 points.
Venezuela has 6 points.
Puerto Rico has 4 points.
Colombia has 2 points.
Mexico has 1 point.
What will happen when the other four countries and their delelgates are known?????
EXPECTATIONS:
Based on current information and our expectations we say that the top-ten next year very likely includes the following four countries:
1. SPAIN: this not very populated country always manages to be in the top-ten in international pageants! What's the Spanish secret???
2. RUSSIA: this immense country doesn't miss the top-ten in any intenational pageant the last years! Why does the Russian attract so much???
3. ARUBA: this populated island is the third country not to miss the top-ten in any international pageant this year! And Deyanira is the best!!!
4. DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: this country with a vast majority of coloured people finally sends a black beauty to an international pageant!!!
As we have said earlier, we also give high chances to the following countries to be in that top-ten-list:
1. U.S.A.: this popular country has always been strong in the Miss Universe Pageant! And there are some strong delegates for Miss USA 2002!!
2. INDIA: this populated country has had more success in the Miss World Pageant than in the Miss Universe Pageant, but it's always there!!!!!
Statistically seen, VENEZUELA, PUERTO RICO and COLOMBIA are strong countries in the Miss Universe Pageant aswell. So, it could very well be that these three countries will be in the top-ten aswell. But we strongly believe that the chances of these three countries will be much lower compared to the past. Some other countries nowadays send strong delegates (beauty, intelligence, talents!) and these countries do extremely well in international pageants lately. This trend will surely continues next year! So, it could be that we won't see Venezuela, Puerto Rico and/or Colombia in the top-ten in the Miss Universe Pageant next year. What happened in the Miss World Pageant can easily happen again in the Miss Universe Pageant.
I am from Trinidad and Tobago and I love the delegates you have choosen for Miss USA, my favorite being Kelly Llyod of Indiana - beautiful, intelligent and talented she has a lethal combination. Besides she has and will have represented Indiana at all of the major beauty pageants, Miss Teen USA (1st runner up), Miss America(best interview by non-finalist) and now Miss USA. Look for her to be in the to ten.
The choices for Miss Universe are also good but I had hoped you would have waited for some more delegates to be crowned. The girls for Miss TnT this year are very strong and I see the eventual winner doing well. But I must say that why is it that every year it seems that there are three predetermined spots (India, USA and Venezuela) and everyone else is fighting to be in the top 7. I hope that this year it is like Miss World where by a fresh top 10 is seen and other countries can vie for the crown.

Subject: To Jemrin: Height is not important in beautypageants. In the past and in the present short(er) girls made it in the MU-pageant: Guam (once), India (Sushmita, Manpreet, Lara, Celina), Spain(Helen), USA(Chelsi, Lynette).....as I said before, Deyanira, who has approximately the height of Helen Lindes from Spain (second runner-up MU-2000) has nothing to worry about; everything you wrote about her is s itrue and she is so selfconfident. as you all know three days ago Natascha Börger was crowned the new Miss Germany Universe 2002.
I headed off to Kaiserslautern on January 10th together with my two friends Sonny and Andreas. Kaiserslautern is not so far from the place where I live. Only 70 minutes by car. When we arrived at the hotel,
we met with Natascha´s mother. We were talking about Natascha, the other contestants and we were in permanent contact with Natascha who was already at the Riverside (venue of the pageant). Natascha was very nervous and much pressure was on her. She knew that all the pageant fans expected her to win. Some of you know that I prepared her a little bit for the pageant especially for the interviews. I also gave her recommendations what to wear, what to say etc. in the weeks before the pageant.
During our telephone calls with her in the hours before the pageant we calmed her down and we assured her that she can rely on the support of her family and friends.
At 8:00 p.m. we headed off to the Riverside. There I met the people of the Miss Hessen Organisation (Hessen is my state) and they informed me that two girls had withdrawn from the pageant the day before the show. They were Miss Schleswig-Holstein, Diana Lautsch and Miss Niedersachsen, Vicky Nikolaou. According to the press they withdrew because they could not stand the stess and pressure anymore.
At 9:00 p.m. the show began with the opening. Miss Sachsen, Claudia Georgi was singing a song (she really has a great voice) and the other contestants were dancing on the stage.
Then the judges were presented. Among them were the actors Mark Keller, Erol Sander and Bruno Eyron. Furthermore 4 former Big Brother-inmates: Alex (who is now an actor as well), Karim and Daniela (they got to know in the Big Brother-house and got married some weeks after they had to leave the house) and Christian (who was quite successful as a singer last year) Others were actress Andrea Suwa, TV host Eve-Maren Büchner and some more. 19 judges altogether.
Then all the girls appeard on stage in their own evening gown. Natascha wore a wonderful light blue gown created by Venezuelan designer Franco Montoro The delegates presented themselves and told the judges and the audience about their name, age, hobbies etc.
The next round was in swimsuit
After these two rounds I was quite sure that Natascha would win. She was so nice and charming , with a wonderful smile, she knew how to walk and she has a great body and a wonderful personality.
After the personal presentation, evening gown and swimsuit, the Top 6 were announced. This time the girls had to wear gowns by a German designer. To be honest most of these gowns were horrible!!!!
The Top 6 were:
Miss Baden-Württemberg, Susanne Auerswald
Miss RTL Online, Susanne Tockan
Miss Thüringen, Isabelle Wiedenhöft
Miss Bayern, Anja Pensold
Miss Hamburg, Natascha Börger
Miss Hessen, Eva Dedecke
Now to the interviews: Natascha´s questions was: "Which three things would you save if your house was on fire???"
and I love them so much". I was very satisfied with her answer.
Next to the coronation:
2nd RU Susanne Tockan, Miss RTL Online
1st RU, Anja Pensold, Miss Bayern
And then Janaina Berenhauser (Miss Intercontinental 1998 who by the way looks better than ever) announced the winner.
Miss Deutschland 2002 is Miss HAMBURG!!!!!!!
My friends, Natascha´s mother and me, we were jumping, crying, applauding. It was such a great moment. We were so proud of her and she really deserved to win!!!!!!
After the pageant we met Natascha and she was very happy. Unfortunately she did not have much time, as she had to leave immediately for Cologne where she was invited as a guest in the RTL Morning Show.
For the next day we invited Natascha´s mother to stay at my place to watch all of Natascha´s TV appearances etc. together She stayed overnight and invited us for the next weekend to Hamburg. Hopefully Natascha will also be at home. Her mother is such a nice person and Natascha herself is also very nice and sweet.
With this mail I would also like to thank our friend Junior Zelaya, who was also in Kaiserslautern and who helped Natascha backstage. MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS JUNIOR!!!!!!!!!!!! Gracias!!!!!!
In May Natascha Börger will be the German delegate in Miss Universe 2002. I feel that she will do really well. In my opinion she´´s defintely a strong contender for the Top 10
This by now my classifications for each candidate for MU 2002... by now... Class. from 1 to 5
Anyway, a mi me gusta. 3 3/4
Dark horses with possibilities:
+France- Esta chica, aunque no es impresionante bella, tiene una rareza particular que puede agradar mucho, aunque no supera a Elodie Gusson. 3 1/2
+Namibia- Buenas facciones, pero en todas las fotos aparece con maqullaje demasiado recargado... anyway, good face bones. 3 1/2
Not bad:
^South Africa- Se me parece Lorena Bernal... aunque prefiero a Lorena Bernal. 3
Above average:
#Poland- Demasiado girl next door. 2 3/4
Will go just for a nice vacation to Puerto Rico
/British Virgin Islands- Nada especial. 2
/Hong Kong- 5'4" es muy poco... demasiado poco. 2
Hello everyone!! It's that time again where people are predicting their top 10 finalists, based on pics, and with only 44 days left until Miss USA, it's only right to see if one's predictions will make the top 10.
Honestly, to me I think it's fun to post up a top 10 list, because it's fun to read all the agreements and disagreements to one's choices.
Nevertheless, we also have our Miss India winner this Saturday, and hopefully she will qualify on everyone's top 10 lists for Miss Universe.
Now for my take on the top 10 for Miss USA 2002. Based on all the photos, and already known knoledge that I have read about the delegates, I have come up with a top 5 delegate analysis, not them necessarily to be in the top 10, but hoping for them to be up there, upcoming Miss USA finals night.
First the obvious:
KACI LAINE KELLY, MISS TEXAS
I know for a fact that she will be a strong contender for the Miss USA Crown. She is one intelligent and beautiful girl, and I am

Laura Herring -- Last Night, 06:35:31 01/23/02 Wed
Did anyone else spot Laura Elena Harring (nee Martinez Herring, Miss USA '85) on the Golden Globe Awards last night? What a stunning beauty she continues to be! She stars in the David Lynch film "Mulholland Drive" and has created quite a stir in Hollywood from the film. It was great to see her in the same room as Halle Berry, the beauty she almost crowned in '86. I wonder if the two of them are friends? I know all of Texas is still proud of their Miss USA from '85 and all the rest of 'em, too!

We don't want Venenzuelas sloopy secounds -- German, 20:29:32 01/20/02 Sun
Germany Universe 2002 also competed in Miss Venenzuela
Natascha Börger, 20, was crowned the new Miss Germany Universe 2002 on January 10th.
Sixteen delegates competed for the title of Miss Germany Universe 2002. The winner will represent the country in Miss Universe 2002, which will take place in Puerto Rico this upcoming June. The final night of Miss Germany is scheduled for Thursday, January 10.
One of the big favorites for the crown was Natascha Börger who is representing the city of Hamburg. Natascha competed in Miss Venezuela 2000 representing the state of Yaracuy, where she was also a favorite as well but did not make semifinals. She then relocated to Germany, where her father is from, and now is competing for the Miss Germany Crown. She has a dual citizenship.
