As the Vice Principal, I have seen the major struggles that the first year teaching will face. The largest problem is classroom management. It is hard for beginning teachers to teach with "problems" (not paying attention, bored, etc) amoung the students. The mentoring program helps the new teachers get past these difficulties. New teachers must also understand the background of different students, this will make teaching much easier. Also, many times the new teachers just feel overwhelmed.
