I don't know. I still have drawings I have done in my younger days (and even in my not so younger days) that I would NOT want to have published, even though I personally have fond memories associated with those drawings, which is why I keep them.

Here is another question, a little different than publishing unpublished works of art: How about when someone other than the author CHANGES a work of art for publication?

Example: L. Sprague de Camp took several unpublished (and a few published non-Conan) stories by Robert E. Howard and rewrote them as Conan stories (and usually very bad Conan stories). I think this is wrong too. I keep imagining how upset I would be if, after MVD passes on, someone dug up all his unpublished short stories and changed them all so that they all had the same main character as one of his more popular books.
