No. Martin Greenburg "resurrected" Conan with the Gnome Press hardbacks in the 1950's. Then Glenn Lord tried to get the Conan stories out via Berkley publishing (three volumes were successfully published before Berkley pulled the plug due to de Camp's threatened lawsuits) in the 70's at the same time that De Camp was trying to publish his edits and additions alongside Howard's work.

Glenn Lord did far more for Howard than de Camp ever did. If it had been up to de Camp, we would have never heard of Solomon Kane, King Kull, Cormac Mac Art, or Bran Mak Morn.

The story that De Camp "saved" Howard is a myth. The Berkley books were going to be published at the same time, without additions or re-writes, and could have become just as popular... and the only reason people bought the de Camp Lancer editions over the first releases of the Berkley edition was the cover art by Frank Frazetta.
