I have always found it somewhat amusing that the Christians' central symbol is one of torture and death. What if Jesus had been hanged? Would we all be wearing charm necklaces with nooses attached? What if he had been boiled in oil? Perhaps we would all say, then, "Look to the pot!" Instead of "Look to the cross"...
