I was just told by a gentleman customer that if I were his employee he would fire me! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Here was the conversation: (I own my own retail quilt store)
Gentleman: "You don't own this store do you?"
Me: "Yes, I do, actually."
(Gentleman begins to walk out.)
M: "Did you have a question?"
G: "Well, you've had four people come through and you haven't offered to help anyone, you just sit there playing chess."
M: "Does that offend you?"
G: (shrug)
M: "I'm sorry if it offends you that I believe my customers are capable of helping themselves."
G: "Well, if you were my employee, I would have fired you."
M: "Well, I'm glad that I'm not your employee!"
(Gentleman begins to leave in a huff)
M: "I seem to do pretty well... thanks!"
Note: In future, Silver Tree Quilts will have a hand-holding policy in which all customers will be led through the store by their hands and guided in case any need or emergency should arise. Chess will be forbidden as it gets in the way of work and helping the stupid and helpless people of the world. Thank you.
