It is not often that the reader is presented with a collection of writings that can be classified as modern treasures. But that great priviledge was given to me when I first stumbled across these gems from that, increasingly fashionable, writer of internet articles and stories, christopheranton.

The treasures that it was my pleasure to mine cover all sorts of topics, from the hilariously funny story about the true identity of The Man in the Iron Mask, to his terrifying, but very moving take on The death of Joseph Stalin.

christopheranton is a writer that is not frightened to tackle controversial subjects. He is definitely not "a safe author". His unique article on The History of Homosexual/Gay oppression, and his equally original interpretation of The History of African American slavery, provoke the reader to always think beyond the surface of a subject.

As well as an ability to produce treasures of both comic and philosophic literature, the dept of his appreciation, and the extent of his knowledge, when he produces gems on the more artistic subjects, makes his writings, not only entertaining, but very usefully educational as well.

But rather than just taking my word for it, check these "gems of modern literature" for yourself.

These "twenty first century treasures" were surely meant to be shared as widely as possible.
