You will notice that Bucknell leads on almost every academic honor roll list. Does this mean that its students athletes are superior? In a word "no." The lettering requirements are so drastically different from school to school and sometimes even from sport to sport within an institution. Some schools have hard and fast requirements for lettering while others have guidelines and ultimately leave it up to the coach.

Look at Bucknell track for example. Anyone with an orange shirt and a 3.2 GPA qualify.
