Gemstars can be a good system! they give away some really cool toys and prizes trophies and crowns! Angie is sweet...but Debbie the other director is extremly gossipy. and has turned many a pageant mom against one another. They would have an even better system if Debbie could manage not to instigate(sp?) problems and stay out of the gossip and social problems, and just be a director. If it is a state pageant...i would advise your friend to try out a prelim 1st before investing in a state level pageant.

Arizona doesnt support glitz pageants at all and this in a very bad example of what a glitz pageant is all about. They have lots of prelims but usually the same kids compete. Their prizes are awful cheap trophies, crowns, and toys. I agre Debbie is very much a gossiper and always talks about other moms. Angie is very nice and usually is not on the front line of running things. The biggest concern I have heard is how long their very small pageants lastThere are other glitz systems out there for you to compete in and receive much better results for the same cost if not less. - the reason you think Angie is nice is because she does'nt answer any one's calls Debbie does. Angie doesn't do much of anything so Debbie gets to answer to all the moms she is always up front and will tell you the things you need to know and if any of you want to say you don't talk to your friends about other moms you are crazy so maybe she thought she was talking to a friend as a friend and not a director. so who would be the gossiper?   - This doesn't sound very nice regarding Angie. I think you are insinuating that she doesn't carry her weight and that Debbie has to do all of the dealing with the pageant moms. You owe Angie an apology. She is nicer to work with than Debbie ever thought of being. She doesn't gossip and doesn't cause trouble among the moms. - Suggestion number 1-- Don't let Debbie talk to the people so she can't gossip. If necessary let Angie be the only Director. Suggestion 2-- Run a more organized pageant. With such small numbers there is no reason that the pageant takes so many hours to complete. Number 3-- Keep the Director away from the judges table and the tabulating and just give her the results to read. That way she has to go by what the judges came up with. who are you trying to kid! Debbie is not a gossiper she tells the facts and if you don't like that then don't ask her questions. She is one of the few directors that will tell you the truth and not just what you want to hear. - Debbie gossips to everybody! Who are kidding? And while the prizes are fine for a preliminary what great prizes are given out on the higher levels or state and Nationals? More toys? Let's just say that every system is imperfect and not try to make it like this one is perfect. Stop sounding so high and mighty and come back to the real world. The kids all know that she is a smoker and I don't care for somebody who smokes to be a role model for my kids! I'm NOT looking for a bad role model! Her gossiping doesn't bother me any more than my gossiping bothers me. The kids don't know it is going on but they ALL know she smokes. Yuck!
