Subject: Kids USA Click In!
In reply to: 's message, "KidsUSA State - What a joke. SO poorly ran - no one seemed to have any idea what was going on or where anyone needed to be. The 0-18 month winners were totally random. No personality from 3 of them, especially not from the personality winner or the overall winner. AP is going to be ever more annoying as a royalty mom. Congrats to TC, she deserved her win. Congrats to LT on winning ambass. for her daughter. What a weird week." on 14:10:33 06/26/04 Sat

Let's begin with a few of the topics brought up and clarify situations: I have never heard anything about "running out of food" at any of the Kids USA functions, especially breakfast. Pizza ran short at the carnival but they made a second order and everybody ate a ton! People have to order tickets in advance & when people wait till the last minute, that is when problems occur. As for the winners being picked ahead of time, that is also so false-the preteen contestant had never done Kids USA before State (same thing last year as well). Of course the kids from Arizona excelled at Nationals last year, they are very familiar with the modeling and requirements of the system. We met many wonderful people from other states at Nationals last year but few of them compete in similar pageants to have the experience the Arizona kids do. To the mother who says a "Queen's mother" was judging, not ONE royalty mother was a judge during the week. Kids USA looks at the whole package and if a child is misbehaving, it is taken into consideration. A few mothers cannot control their children and how can those kids be considered for royalty (listening on-stage and representing the system, etc) when they do not even listen to their own parents? Sure, kids are kids, but there are standards and people need to be responsible for their own kids. People come up with so many reasons to be bitter about not winning, that is not what your week should be about. If you are out for a crown, go to another system! Kids USA will continue to be a part of Arizona and surrounding states. If JS hasn't stayed in touch with you, try again to contact her as she is a super busy person. She is very much trying to pull together a National program, which is obviously not the easiest task. Nobody is perfect, look at some of the systems that have been around for years and years, they still continue to have problems and issues. Take a step back and see what others see before making such negative statements, are you simply mad that your child did not win or do you have a valid concern? If your concern is valid, contact JS and she will most certainly reply.
