to complete the information, here what Mantey says in "Kreuzerkrieg volume III"

The total success of the minelaying is not known in spite of the demand at the French ministry of the navy. The only answer was that already on January 10, the first mines have been observed. Then on January 13 and 15, the Bayo and the Belgica sunk near to Rochebonne by mines. On the following days all the barrages had been detected and on January 21, routes free of mines had been created to Bordeaux.

Ps: I will send you also the chard of the minefields of the Pentland Firth.
