Hi everybody,
I am finally at a point (financially) where I can start seriously looking at a boat of my own.
Right now I'm leaning toward a Zoar Sport, but am very intrigued by the CD Kestrel HV. The new material (TCS) would knock about 20 lbs off the Zoar... and I'd be cartopping my boat alone, so that's a HUGE deal.
I'll be going to a demo day and hopefully trying both, but was wondering if any other big people out there had tried the Kestrel.
I'm a short-legged (31 inseam, 5'5" tall) size 28 chick who wants a fairly stable boat that is versatile enough to do lake, river and ocean daytrips (nothing extreme). I like to go solo (with proper precautions, of course) so I don't need to worry about keeping up with longer/faster/lighter boats. My main considerations are price (no glass for me, I'm afraid), length (manageable for one person to handle on land), and weight (ditto). But I want something with a little zip, ya know??
Any info much appreciated!
Cleo
