Yall did so well suggesting how to exit the boat, I thought I would share my other challenge....finding some clothes to fit me. I wear a women's size 26/28. I can wear many of Lands End's Women's 3x sizes as well. So, I thought paddling clothes would be no big deal. Was I ever wrong! I wore tennis shoes/synthetic socks, synthetic knit pants, a long sleeve tshirt, and a Nike synthetic rain slicker out for the first paddle. I got a splash and was so cold. The next time I bought some XXL seal skin waterproof socks that were supposed to come up over my calf. They didn't, but I rolled them down and wore some aqua shoes which was warmer when my feet got wet, the water went into the sock and warmed up eventually. I began shopping online for splash tops in various waterproof but breathable materials. I had to go to the men's sizing which makes the arms extremely long and the pants extremely long. I found two options: Lotus Designs stretch paddling pants from Patagonia in XXL but they were too narrow to pull up. Also, their XXXL top that was supposedly fitting up to 54 inches is not sized at all like a woman's garment that is supposed to accomodate 54 inches, so no fit there. Second, altrec or NRS carries a "grizzly" sized Hydroskin wet suit farmer john thing...doesn't that sound flattering? it is wetsuit 0.5mm neoprene so it is not waterproof or breathable, and I hesitate to order it because it is for a man up to 6 feet 6 in. tall, so I figure the waist would be around my armpits or neck. I was able to get a couple of rash shirts that I can tolerate from REI and llbean. I am wearing them under the Nike rain slicker.

I am desperate enough to consider frog toggs (you can find those online) as a lightweight, package, rain suit often worn at football games by fans in team colors.

I wish the manufacturers of paddling wear would get a clue along with the kayak manufacturers. Any ideas?
