See Chapter 31 of Dawnwalker for one:
The clerk clicked a few more keys. "Naw, here 'tis, yaah? Sladek, party of tree. Double on da second floor, for two nights, ey?"

Yahh, but dots in Yooper, eh?

Remember in Dawnwalker when Michelle messes up the spelling of the name, leading to Crystal's surprise when her mother shows up at Lee's Ferry? This isn't really a spoiler, but in a future book Crystal complains about spelling, "I don't think I've ever had anyone get 'Chladek' right the first time."

BTW, I've always mentally pronounced it "Schladek" -- which is the way I remember Stan Chladek prounouncing it.

Isn't it annoying when you accidentally post something twice ;-)
Been there, done that.
