You are correct Dmitri, it started as a high school English/History project, at Rabun Gap, GA.

I highly recommend all of the books. It shows what a fertile mind can come up with, when there is no other way.

Just did a little research on it myself. I've spent some time in that area, mostly Clayton, GA and a little east, but I didn't know at the time that's where the books were coming from, though I think I had read at least some of them by then (this was 30+ years ago). Mountain City, where Wigginton's high school class was based, is just 3 miles north of Clayton.

I have the first 6 Foxfire books and refer to them quite often. I also bought the first 4 books for my son-in-law as reference/reading material for his family cabin. I would search the local used bookstores and expect to pay $7-$10 for them. Search for 'foxfire books' in any search engine and find out more.

Thanks, Ron. We used to have at least the first 4+. I just looked on the shelf I'd expect them to be on and don't see them. Doesn't mean we don't still have 'em, but they could have gotten pitched in one of my wife's purges recently or earlier. Wouldn't have been me. I never throw anything away (to my wife's chagrin) -- especially a book.
