Good Day,

I've has a period that was nothing but work -- This weekend was a virtual get away week. This means picking up were I left off with your latest effort and have a read-a-thon

I really enjoy Randy and his plot line -- a lot of positive, meeting life head on stuff. I wish I had written the name down, but the new Mexican character seems laden with possibilities.

If you are looking for 'new' this new employee for Clark Construction is there for the picking. How does he integrate in the town? Who changes, what changes, etc.
What are the dynamics of him moving to town? How does he socialize? Does his family of origin visit? For How long?
How does he do as a Clark Construction employee, etc?

Well, you asked for it.

The first I one thought of was Tim and Charlene Willoughby, maybe a short one about how they met.

The next one was one from Tanisha's family, maybe a niece or nephew (I'm don't know if her brother had kids,if not from his wife then maybe from one of his earlier "mistresess") is really smart and needs some help in getting a good education, or a refuge in general.

Then again there are Jackie and Mark from Rocinante. It was the first story from you I read, so I think they kind of deserve a new story ;-).

Also I think the Madam and George Bush might be an interesting working title for how the Redlight got started.

That's all I have for now ;-).

Hope this helps you.

If that story gets written, I'd like to see George be the prinicpal character in the opening chapters and the title be "George Bush and the Madams". Yes, plural.

We've met and observed Shirley Hoffman (in Magic Carpet and in the later books), much more than George. We could have him meet a few other madams as he does the loop a few times, and then settle down with Shirley and get the Redlite (version 2) started.

The book could also get into version 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 as George expands and expands and expands (the additional wings on the buildings).

And maybe a few interesting events (like having the Mormon missionaries or Jehovas Witnesses discover the Redlite).

Or "the rest of the story" when the NBC reporter visits.... (re chapter 34 of MC "The scuttlebutt around the business was that there was an NBC reporter with a serious reputation as a cocksman, who had tried to short-circuit the interview process by going out to that place in Nevada where she worked and wound up spending $5000 for two hours.")

Or even a staged event where (paid) protesters just happen to be in front of the gate the day that Brenda Hodunk shows up to interview Jennlyn at the Redlite (end of chapter 34).

Hmmmm... the Brenda Hodunk interview might make a shorter book all by itself.

Or maybe Pepermint Patty... The transition from PP to Dr York would be interesting... as would be who she meets (and how she meets them) and settles down with...
