Who says that the Bullring stories will not manage to involve some of the locations found in the Spearfish Lake/Dawnwalker/Bradford series? Most likely the cast will be all new - but then again, there might be a guest appearance of someone in the appropriate generation.

There will be some minor crossovers in later books in the series -- nothing much in the first one, though.

Maybe we will see Bill Simpson, (Cattail, chapter 11) who says he raced street stocks at Flat Rock raceway during the same era as "Wild" Bill Elliot whose first NASCAR race was in 1976. That raceway is in southeastern Michigan not too far from where Wes lives and not too far from Bradford and Wychbold. Even Simpson's nickname, Awesome Bill from Rawsonville, is a takeoff on Elliot's nickname, Awesome Bill from Dawsonville. By the way, isn't the last name of Michelle, Rawson? I like how Wes recycles names in his stories.

IIRC, there was at least a location crossover between Cattail and the Spearfish/Bradford world.

There was also one character crossover: Bruce Berkshire, the auctioneer at the auction of Homer Smith's real estate, is Dayna Berkshire's father.
