Subject: Bullring Days - chapter 6

I never drove midgets in a bullring, but I drove stock cars on dirt and I love the descriptions in this chapter. I can almost smell the dust and the odours of exhaust gasses mixed with hot oil fumes. I can almost feel the sensations of a power slide as I recall holding the car on the outside of a corner, then the surge of adrenaline as I roared past a slower car when I hit the straight.
It's all memory, but dang it Wes, your words bring those memories back. Way to go and thanks!

Thanks for your comments. One thing I've always liked about Wes' stories is that they are well researched. Your comments above seem to confirm this. I know this story was set in the late 40s and early 50s. When did you do your racing? Also, I wonder if there were racing teams similar to this one that went around the country putting on shows in small venues like the ones described in this story?
