I'm still laughing. . .

Lambda Lambda Lambda, that famous College Fraternity.

As in Lambdatron. Maybe someone else has mentioned it before, I didn't read all the way back in the archives.

G'day,

I know nothing about this fraternity you mention, maybe it's a USA thing. BUT the word Lambda is the name for a Greek letter, and I do know most of the big USA university/colleges that have fraternities usually use a Greek letter for the fraternity name, so such a case it likely.

HOWEVER, Lambda is used in mathematics and physics for a number of things, but more relevant to Lambdatron is how it's used in computing (from the wiki article on Lambda):

"In computer science, lambda is the time window over which a process is observed for determining the working memory set for a digital computer's virtual memory management."

And this has a direct relationship to much of what goes on at that company. During the period MC is set in, it was very common for computing related companies to add 'tron' to the end of whatever they used as a name, so Lambdatron is a very logical computer company name. What surprises me most is that it a company doing that sort of work did NOT use it and register it before Wes used it.

Ernest:

I think he is referring to the frat in the movie "Revenge of the Nerds".
