Somehow I picture a scene closer to the one where Crystal said goodbye to her old family than reconciliation.

The scene would have Jon and Tanisha arriving with a some time to spare for their meeting with Pete. After being escorted to the meeting room, Jon decides to see his father, to see if he has mellowed down enough so that he could introduce Tanisha as his wife.

That conversation doesn't go well with Pete managing to insult Jen, Jon and Tanisha (without realizing that he was doing that to his son.) Pete also asks if he has seen Crystal, Nanci and Karen which gets a response "some time ago" (A couple of months - Christmas) and he doesn't know where they might be at the moment (True to a point - but he does known more or less where they expected to be at that time.)

The meeting itself goes as well as expected and when leaving Pete offers Jon a couch to spend the night who refuses and says that he will be spending it at a hotel with his wife kissing Tanisha as he leaves.
