I deliberately waited several days, to see if anyone else had the same impression I did. Since no one has come forward, here goes. I felt sorry for Shae Kirkendahl throughout the story. As a loner, myself, I could sympathize with her. I had hoped that Wes would bring some resolution to her malaise or loneliness, but none was forthcoming. How about it, Wes, are you going to be returning to Shae's problem in a future story?

In a word, to avoid giving out spoilers, yes. Some other things have to happen, and fixing her problem did not fit well into the context of this story -- and certianly not the timing -- but we will be getting back to her!

Great. Looking forward to further stories.
