G'day Wes,
Thanks for the plug. I do try to develop my characters a lot more in the longer stories, but there isn't much room in the short stories, so I've got to focus on a very tight plot there. Of late I've been trying to make the short stories very tight and to hit emotional buttons that get people thinking about the subject matter - thus Fun Run, Coming Home, and Always a Marine.
I will say that my character development has improved since I started reading Wes' stories, it seems to be rubbing off a bit.

I also write as Ernest Edwards, the Clan Amir series started out as a commercial set with dpdotcom and Irish e-publisher and they wanted a nom de plume to differentiate from my other stories with them. About one third of the series is now at Stories On Line and at Fine Stories. I've other works at www.dpdotcom.com and most of my stories at SOL and FS are available through stores.lulu.com/ernestbywater as printed books or PDF files.
