Actually Wes snitched the reference from a Tony Hillerman novel I think. There is an actual "baseball man" pictograph, but it's way upstream on the Navajo Reservation in a canyon of Chinle Creek near Mexican Hat, Utah. Chinle Creek is a tributary of the San Juan River that flows into the Colorado in Utah.
