.B & Wes;
I have more trouble deciding which one to read. Taking too long to read a story hasn't been a problem for 60 years. A speed reading class in ninth grade still means that "Car 54" takes about six hours including the mandatory 5-10 minute walk each hour.
Back in time, when the Reading (PA) fairgrounds had a half mile track, the weekend after the Indy race was held, the AAA Sprint Cars ran at the Fairgrounds. The track was dirt, designed for Sulky racing. It was 3/8 of a mile, absolutely flat, and required those Offey Meyers and Drake sprint cars to just about spend the whole afternoon sideways.
My neighbor had one of those cars and and he had almost $1,800 invested in his. Now you gotta remember that was 58/60 years ago. The race listing most weeks had his entry usually reading "DNF".
