Wes,

You may have set a new high (or low, depending on your view)!

Despite the frustrations of Goofle not refreshing I will try to read it before flying the red-eye back to Toronto from Edmonton after the Indy race!

Complain, complain, complain!

Wes, I think you're spoilin' 'em. Most of these guys don't seem to remember the days before Wes, when most authors would write a chapter and then post, and it would often be a week or two or more, sometimes a month or more between chapters. And they did cliffhangers in those bad ole days, too.

Now they gotta go a whole three days max, between Wes fixes.

Or worse, post a dozen chapters and abandon the story.

cmsix is NOT the only one to do that. I've got stories by seven different authors that have the dreaded yellow strip. I did notice cmsix has come back and posted a new chapter to a couple of his previously striped stories, I just wish he'd finished the striped ones before he starts new ones - which he's doing all the time.

cmsix has 1 story line and his creativity is in the variety of how he starts his stories. I think he has only completed 1 story. He just doesn't have a good 2nd act.

Oh, cmsix does have more than one story line and he has completed a number of stories. Heh has 49 stories at SOL - 13 completed (mostly short stories, 12 with the incomplete and inactive yellow strip, and the rest are in progress. In effect he's got 36 part written stories of which 13 haven't had an update for so long they got yellow striped, but many of the others are a long time since an update as well.

A lot of his short stories are NOT on the time travel harem theme, but all of the longer ones I've read part of are.

Many, many authors have incomplete stories, though the only ones any of us worry about much are the "good" stories. I got tired of Chess's (cmsix) long ago and just quit reading his. A lot of people still like his efforts, though they've dropped way down on my "good" list lately.

Another thing I don't understand is just up and pulling stories from the site so people can't read them, finished or not.

I've also seen stories that post for a while, go dark for months and months, then post one more chapter, then go dark again for heaven only knows how long.

If I see a new chapter of something on my list, and I can't for the life of me remember the storyline in question, that story isn't updating frequently enough.

Of course, we're not paying for this stuff...
