It's Spartan Speedway in Mason, MI.

And yes, that's a figure-8. They don't run it very often, and then only on what they call "Fun Nights," which are demolition derbies in all but name. What really is fun -- and draws crowds -- is a figure-8 race with school buses.

This Youtube video is a good example -- not the best I've seen nor the worst, but the first one I found on a search.
